I’ve had quite a dry spell of late. A couple of weeks ago, I tried doing some
writing and nothing came together. It
was like forcing two puzzle pieces together that don’t fit or looking across
the prairie in the wintertime – flat, barren nothingness. I wasn’t awakened for my usual morning time
with my Friend and Confidante. What a
cool thing to have this Word from Him this morning. It really couldn’t have come at a more
appropriate time. He is ALWAYS on time,
even if it doesn’t feel like it. Karl
and I call Him the 11:59 Factor – but that is for another writing.
So this morning was a message I’ve heard and understood in
my head, and have even had some parts of it written on my heart, but it’s now
been driven deeper into my soul. It is
what our whole existence on this earth is all about – EVERYONE’S whole
existence! Not just me or a few select,
but everyone. Ya ready? It’s serving people!
That’s a tough one to swallow in this day and age, but imagine
what our world will look like when we all get a clue about what we are to be
doing. In this “all about me” society,
it’s so difficult to bring ourselves to the place to even like people, let
alone invite a lonely soul over for dinner or take an afternoon to drive
someone to a doctor’s appointment. Karl
and I have often talked about moving to the mountains and hiding from people –
getting so far up there we don’t come down except for once a month so we don’t
have to deal with the insanity!
And now, because of circumstances and situations, it looks
like we are moving into the heart of town!!!!
NOTHING like we had expected or wanted, but God is really working
something wonderful in our hearts. You’ll
get to see that all unveil because we are just taking the day-to-day steps; we
never really know what’s coming next. We
figure if we follow scripture, we won’t stress ourselves out! This has been one of my favorite scriptures of
late: Matthew 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for
tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own
trouble. Seriously, if we follow this, we’re doing good!
So, back to the point – If we will focus on other people,
and not just the ones we like (believe me when I say, that’s where I’ve wanted
to stay but as I grow in my trust with the Lord, He’s asking me to serve even
the unlikable and extremely challenging people in my life), we will release
unbelievable POWER in our lives. The
POWER of Christ’s forgiveness, financial blessings, joy, happiness – THE KINGDOM!!
The Holy Spirit within!
Here’s the scripture God put in my life, today – I thought I’d use the Amplified version: Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work
which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace,
patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence),
faithfulness, Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint,
continence). Against such things there is no law [[a]that can bring a charge].
I’m SO excited for the day!!
It may even be a day when the most challenging people in the world will
come knocking at my doorstep but I’m ready to release the POWER of God’s
promises in my life so I can transfer that POWER to some of His other children,
even the ones I don’t particularly care for.
